Highland Fieldsports

Several species are to be found on the estate and surrounding farms on which we shoot. These include woodcock, snipe, teal, wigeon, goose, pigeon, rabbit and hare, however the majority of the bag is made up of pheasant and partridge, both red leg and English grey, with a few mallard to add variety.

Driven Game Shooting

Driven days at Rannas are still a traditional, yet friendly, affair.

Guns and their guests start the day with coffee and a briefing
at Rannas House.

We generally stop for 'elevenses' after 2 or 3 drives and then shoot through. Elevenses are taken in our dedicated outbuildings which always have a well stocked bar and larder! A private lunch is served around 3.30pm. The perfect end to a full day of hospitality and entertainment.

The Head Keeper and his team ensure everyone is well looked after and enjoyable sport is had. Open fields, young plantations, bogs and deep gullies in established woodlands - Rannas has the diversity to challenge all guns.

Shooting parties usually number 8-10 guns with expected bags of around 200 birds early in the season and 150-200 from mid-December.

We can tailor days to suit your requirements but generally we shoot mixed days of testing pheasant; exciting partridge over gullies, heather and stubbles; with a few very high duck, from our woodland ponds, bogs and streams filtering through some of the drives.
